CESTA - Amigos de la Tierra
The Salvadoran Centre for Appropriate Technology (CESTA) has been working with communities in appropriate technology throughout El Salvador since 1978. Since that time they have become the leading voice for environmental sustainability in the region, employing over sixty people in programs that range from reforestation, permaculture, solar cookers, pedal powered technology, potable water systems and composting latrines to campaigns on the protection and planting of forests, community economic development, legal issues and even the protection of endangered species such as the sea turtle.
