Panama Audubon Society
For the last two years, the Panama Audubon Society (PAS) has been actively working to preserve the Wetlands of the Upper Bay of Panama. This ecosystem consists of 17,000 hectares of mangroves and 22,000 hectares of mudflats exposed at low tide and is used by over 80% of the shorebirds coming to Panama each year. PAS works with local communities and other stakeholders in the area to implement environmental education and sustainable development activities.
